Seneca Arts & Learning Center celebrates National Indigenous Appreciation Month

Submitted by Angelina Cogley, Seneca & Language Coordinator

On Thursday, November 13th, the Seneca Arts and Learning Center celebrated National Indigenous Appreciation Month. At 6:00 p.m., families of the SALC were treated to a dinner of Indian Tacos. After everyone finished eating, The Steamburg Men’s Ceremonial Program sang Yöëdza’ge:kha:’ Ha’degaëno:geh (Mother Earth Songs / Social Dances), and we “rocked or mocs”. As a special treat, we included a “Cake Walk”, and the winners received o:nyöhsowa:nëh dega:hgwa’se:’ shö’öh (pumpkin pies). Nya:wëh to all the families for attending, Norma Kenyon & Grace Crow, and the SALC staff who assisted with this fun family event.
