Gowanda Central School District is grateful to all those who donated to the recent Blue Star Mothers holiday care package collection for deployed soldiers. The cheerleaders sorted the contributions — 153 pounds of goods and $421 in cash — for delivery. Cards and letters created by our students were cherished by the military members unable to be home for the holidays. Collection boxes were placed in the elementary, middle and high school clerical main offices and clerical staff facilitated and collected the cash donations from staff via a “Jeans Day” event. The funds collected helped to ship 28 care packages.
