The Seneca Nation of Indians is currently accepting resumes & letters of intent for those interested in serving on the:
SENECA NATION HEALTH COMMISSION
Establishment
The Council of the Nation hereby established the Seneca Nation Health Commission (SNHC) for the purpose of providing strategic oversight, policy direction and guidance with respect to the Nation’s health care operations and facilities. The SNHC is recognized as a governmental arm of the Nation and shall perform an essential governmental function which is hereby designated to the SNHC by the Nation Council. Commissioners of the SNHC shall be recognized as performing said essential governmental functions on behalf of the Nation.
Purpose
The Commission is established for the purposes of providing overall policy and direction for the health care delivery system of the Nation and maintaining overall responsibility for the conduct of the Nation’s Health System consistent with the bylaws and specific direction provided by the Nation’s Tribal Council.
Qualifications of Commissioners
• Each Commissioner may or may not be an enrolled member of the Nation.
• Commissioners shall be at least 25 years of age and shall have relevant experience and education in the health care industry that will enable them to successfully serve in their role as a Commissioner.
• The following persons are not eligible to serve on the SNHC;
o employees of the Nation’s health care system;
o owners or employees of contractors (medical or otherwise), who conduct business with the Nation’s Health Care System;
o persons directly related to any of the above;
o persons convicted of a felony or of a crime of embezzlement, theft or of any other money related crime or honesty related crime (such as fraud).
• Commissioners shall be considered “Public Officials” for
purposes of the Nation’s Ethics Law.
