Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has signed forward LeRoy Halftown to a practice player contract.

Halftown, 25, joins the Knighthawks after spending the 2018-19 season on the practice squad of the Georgia Swarm, who selected him in the second round (20th overall) of the 2018 NLL Entry Draft.

Prior to that, Halftown, a product of the Cattaraugus Reservation, played two seasons at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), where he was a USILA Third-Team All-American after scoring a team-high 52 goals with 18 assists while starting all 18 games. He ranked second in ECC play in goals and was later named the East Coast Conference and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 2018.

The 6-foot, 175-pound forward also played one season at Onondaga Community College, helping the Lazers win their 12th straight NJCAA Region III championship in 2016. He spent the 2013 season at Monroe Community College in Rochester, scoring 20 goals and five assists in eight games.

The Knighthawks are back in action following the bye week on Friday, Jan. 31 when they travel to KeyBank Center to take on the Buffalo Bandits in the first of three matchups between the two teams this season. Game time is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start and can be heard live on 107.3 FM The Bull as well as B/R Live.
