We experienced one of the hottest summers in recent history and now we are getting ready for fall! Harvests are plenty and we begin to get ready for the upcoming winter. Kids are going back to school and experiencing on-line learning and physical distancing. Our world has definitely changed and we will tell our grandchildren about the 2020 pandemic that we endured. Our ancestors told our parents about the epidemics that they experienced as well. We are here and we are strong! Even though the virus has somewhat subsided we must not let our guard down – wear masks, physical distance, and wash hands frequently.

Our world is in political, social, environmental, and spiritual chaos. In the Bible Romans 12: 1-19 has words of wisdom to help guide us through this time. “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment…Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good…Honor one another above yourselves…Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. … Do not be conceited… Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody…live in peace with everyone…do not take revenge… If your enemy is hungry feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink…Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Bible study is going to resume on Wednesday, September 16 and end on October 21. We will meet at 7 p.m. in the Four Corners fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to attend as we will be studying about “what we believe”.

The Four Corners Church holds Sunday services at 9 a.m. – wearing masks and without coffee time! It is reassuring to hear the good news that our faith has for us. If you have not already reached out to your source of spiritual strength, do it now. Your life will be enriched. Feel free to contact Pastor Rood by phone or e-mail if you have any questions about the church or if you need spiritual guidance. Peace be with you.
