Training and Employment Resource Center – Ready, Set, Work

The Ready, Set, Work training is a designed training for people who are currently, or have been, Justice Involved and prepares them for the challenges they may face upon entering the workforce. Our trainer, Jackie John, is a certified Offender Workforce Development Specialist, certified through the New York State Department of Corrections.

The training is a full week in which you will learn; what type of work may be best suited for you through career assessments, hear from speakers who have been in your shoes and speakers whose job is to help you should you encounter prejudice, budgeting and spending, why you need to know what is on your RAP sheet, how to correct discrepancies and why it is important, how to apply for certificates through the department of corrections to show future employers, how to properly fill out a job application, take part in mock job interviews, job retention.

Safety measures are in place for those attending this training. Class size is reduced to a minimum of 6 for Cattaraugus TERC and 4 for Allegany TERC. The training in Allegany will be a virtual class in conjunction with the Cattaraugus training. If you are interested in this training please call 532-1033 and ask for Jackie John.
