Class D / Msgr. Martin Report: Salamanca Looks to Build on Solid Spring

Salamanca finished the Spring season 4-3 and lost the Section 6 title game loss to Franklinville/Ellicottville 21-7.
“We are disappointed that our kids didn’t get the opportunity to play at the Stadium,” coach Chad Bartoszek said. “We always dream about that but we felt lucky to have a season at all.” This is Bartoszek’s 3rd season with the program.

The Warriors will get a huge boost by the return of senior center Tre Turner, a 3-year starter.
Tre is as consistent center as I have ever coached.” Bartoszek said. “He’s a team leader on the field and in the weight room. He has earned the respect of his teammates.”

Turner (5-9, 245) was named a team captain and also plays lacrosse.

“He’s not as vocal as some captains,” Bartoszek said, “but he leads with his actions. He had perfect attendance with all of our off-season stuff.”

Turner maintains an academic average of 90.

“He’s a good, solid student,” Bartoszek said.

Tre is the son of Natalie Stahlman and step son to Anthony Stahlman, Allegany Territory and his father is Raymond Turner along with stepmother Sarah Turner.

Ja:goh, Tre!
