The Fall Festival returned this year customarily taking place the second weekend of September, from September 10th – 12th. Friends and families came back to celebrate Seneca culture and to embrace traditions. Everyone relished in their favorite attractions including the fantastic food vendors, art show, social dancing, rides for the kiddos, and so much more!

The Fall Festival opened with the Master’s Lacrosse Tournament as well as two games from the Seneca Sachems Football team which were all held on Friday. Saturday’s main event was the annual parade with the theme of “Senecas Together, Senecas Safe”. There was a number of organizations that participated in the parade such as the Iroquois Legion Post 1587, Seneca Fire, various surrounding fire companies, SNI Education Department, as well as some community businesses and members. The parade brought families and friends together smiling and laughing, which was much needed.

In addition to the many food and craft vendors set up, there was live music throughout the day on Saturday from JJ & Mojo Sauce and Pedro & the Smooth Cats. Attendees were able to enter a couple tournaments/competitions: Cornhole, Horseshoes and Smoke Dance.

Sunday’s activities included a breakfast buffet provided by Seneca Fire, 5k Run, Archery Shoot, the Baby Contest and the final day of the Smoke Dance Competition.

Fall Festival Coordinator Trudy Jackson said “Nya:wëh to all the artists and members of the community who came out to join the festivities.”

The winners from all events and more information will be featured in the next issue to be dated October 15, 2021. Stay tuned.
