Meet ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® Finalist: Joanne Israel
Joanne Israel is V.P./Assistant General Manager at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY. She has held various positions with the company including Corporate Director of Finance Operations and General Manager of Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. She helps to oversee all departments of the Seneca Niagara Casino including hotel resorts, spa & salon, table games, promotions, human resources, and environmental services among other areas.
Joanne grew up on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation and graduated from Niagara University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration- Accounting. She also earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration-Strategic Management from Niagara University. Joanna worked in public accounting for 5 years before starting her tenure with Seneca Gaming Corporation in 2011.
Joanne serves as a board member for Native American Community Services, and is a former Board Member for Inter-Community Services. She has also served as a basketball coach for St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Sanborn, NY.
