BOSTON – University at Albany men’s lacrosse freshman Amos Whitcomb has been named America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. He was named alongside Offensive Player Kevin Mack from Stony Brook and Defensive Player Tommy Burke from Vermont.
Whitcomb, an attack from Salamanca, N.Y., has previously been named America East Rookie of the Week on two occasions, on March 7 and April 4. Last week, Whitcomb tallied six total goals, including four at NJIT to help the Great Danes clinch their spot in the 2022 America East Tournament, and two at then-#10 Yale.
UAlbany closes its 2022 regular season at home on April 30 against #13 Penn in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The team will host a brief ceremony honoring the members of the 2022 senior class.
