On June 12th, over 100 participants gathered to celebrate the late Cynthia “Cindy” Mohr’s 5K walk/run in commemoration of her birthday on June 6th. Family, former students and community members started the race at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Salamanca, NY.
Mrs. Mohr dedicated her career to the Salamanca City Central School District for more than 30 years, inspiring many students along the way.
The Class of 2023 sponsored the event in effort to keep Mrs. Mohr’s memory and legacy alive as many were former students and felt the deep impact of her loss.
Proceeds benefit the Cynthia J. Mohr Scholarship, funds will be granted to two high school seniors pursing a degree in higher education. Awards will be selected by the 2023 class officers, class advisors, district staff and Mohr’s family.
Donations toward the Cynthia J. Mohr Scholarship can me made year-round. Checks can be made out to John or Judy Norkus, Class of 2023 advisors and sent to the Salamanca High School, 50 Iroquois Drive, Salamanca, NY 14779.
