News from TERO – Allegany

The construction industry needs people badly. The industry is beginning to run into labor shortages, as the baby boomer generation begins to retire. That gives the Seneca people an opportunity to take advantage of this, and obtain meaningful employment. Laborers, Carpenters, Electricians, Operators, Plumbers/Steamfitters, Iron Workers, Brick Layers, Roofers, Finishing Trades, Painters/Bridge Painters, Sheetmetal Workers, and other skilled labor positions are a lot of the trades that are going to begin seeing shortages.

With jobs like the new Buffalo Bills $1.4 Billion stadium coming up in Orchard Park, and a number of different jobs coming down the pipeline, it’s imperative we strike while the iron is hot. The project will start in Spring 2023, and will create thousands of jobs. The unions are looking to recruit more Apprentices now for the three-year project, so don’t wait, get on it now!

If you need help contact your local TERO Office, and let us help with the process. In the last year, approximately 30 to 40 Seneca’s have been given meaningful employment in the Union and Non-Union sectors. Many of which have started as apprentices, where they are well-on their way to becoming journey-people. We encourage individuals looking for careers to stop in and discuss opportunities with Allegany TERO Director, Christian Reiller.
