The Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club recently hosted its second annual golf tournament fundraiser on August 6th at Vineyards Golf Course.
The event was deemed a success and the third annual tournament date is set for Saturday, August 5, 2023. Seventy-two golfers participated in teams of four people in this year’s event.
There were many prize winners. The overall winners were Team Catt-Rez: Sean Wallace, Dakota Snyder, Shawn John and Jason Seneca.
The Lions Club thanked Fredonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for sponsoring the hole-in-one contest; Super Duper Catering, which provided the meal; and Vineyards Golf Course.

The following businesses contributed raffle baskets and prizes: TaQo-The Big Cheeseburger, Liberty Winery, NAPA Silver Creek, Blasdell Pizza, O’Malia Liquor, Valvoline Oil, Spike Dailey’s, Holiday Valley Golf, C.C.O., Pizza Village, Fredonia Animal Hospital, Main Wine and Spirits, Bill’s Hooks, Nestle Purina, Barone Liquor Store, Fredonia Cycling, Salon Bel Vie and Cindy Miller Golf.
The event raised just over $3,600, which will be used by the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club to support the local community through such programs as: sight and hearing aid needs programs, durable medical equipment loan closet, scholarships for high school seniors, winter coat drive, support of local food pantries, and much more.
The Lions Club is always looking for community service-minded individuals to join in the effort to improve the world around.
