Best wishes for a Happy 2023. A new year brings new opportunities and new beginnings. For the Seneca Nation this new administration is working on many exciting projects this year.
For Housing, a new Director will be in place very soon and a new fiscal manager was trained on Seneca Nation procedures. Housing continues to transition under the Seneca Nation government. This is a very lengthy process and is moving in a positive direction for accountability for all components.
Seneca Energy has announced two great opportunities, a Residential Solar Installation Program and the Affordable Connectivity Program. The Residential Solar Initiative will provide 50 systems to residents for solar panels and battery storage to their homes. This initiative will lower electric bills and create a crucial sustainability during power outages. Individuals selected will be responsible for 10%-25% based on income eligibility.
The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program is for families to help ensure households can afford the broadband system. This offers a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal Lands.
Eligibility for the Affordable Connectivity Program is based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines or if a member qualifies at least one of the criteria listed on the application. Please contact Seneca Energy for the qualifying list.
