He closes with current COVID information, the next council session, and recognizes three Senecas were recently honored by Buffalo Business First.

President Matt Pagels starts this update by acknowledging the loss of respected and influential leader, Marlene “JaGohNyah” Johnson. He provides the local and current COVID information for the community.

He also speaks on the 20th anniversary of the Gaming Compact that took place a few weeks ago. He thanks the community for participating in the informational and listening sessions hosted by the Seneca Nation Health system this week. He reminds people of the upcoming community events and the September 17th Council session.

He closes with a shout out to all of the workers who make our Nation and our community strong and a special “Nya:wëh” to our incredible first responders, for their selfless sacrifice and service to our community at all times and in all situations.

He also talks on upcoming activities happening in the community, updated COVID numbers, upcoming firework events at the Seneca Casinos and the July council session.

He closes with congratulating Frank Brown, Zed Williams for playing in the National Lacrosse League Championship and Lori Quigley, the chairwoman of the Seneca Gaming Corporation Board of Directors, who was named the interim President of Medaille University earlier this week.
