The National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA) is a federation of fifty-four (54) charters in the United States, each with numerous club affiliates and individual members. Each charter is self-governing. Some states have more than one charter. With the purpose of The NHPA being to strive to promote and organize the sport and to standardize the rules, equipment and playing procedures. The top priority is to serve as a unifying agent between state associations, local clubs, unorganized groups and individual players. The NHPA sanctions the Annual World Tournament, state association tournaments, regional and open events and a league program. The tournament is a two-week event held from July 13–25, 2026.

Pat Spruce (Cattaraugus Territory) attended the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association Tournament in Wausau Wisconsin held at the Greenheck Turner Community Center in July 2026. Pat won Second Place in the Elder Men’s S Category 2026 WT Prelims.

Reposted from Rochester Knighthawks Page | Article By Craig Rybczynski | 07/30/2026

(Rochester, NY)… Rochester Knighthawks President and General Manager Dan Carey announced today that the team has re-signed forward Zed Williams to a three-year deal, pending league approval.

“We’re thrilled to have Zed back with the Knighthawks,” said Carey. “His versatility allows him to make an impact at both ends of the floor, and he brings another dynamic scoring threat to our offense. Beyond what he does on the floor, Zed is a true professional and a respected leader whose work ethic and presence set the standard for our team. We’re excited to have him continue to be a big part of what we’re building.”

Williams enters his ninth season in the NLL after notching 26 goals and 16 assists for 42 points in 18 games. He finished the season with a six-point game (3+3) against Georgia at home. Williams also tallied a hat trick and two assists against Buffalo in January and scored five goals at the end of February against the Saskatchewan Rush.

“I’m really excited to be back. I was happy to be able to come to the team last year,” said Williams. “Wherever I’ve played, relationships have always been important to me, and the people in this organization made the transition incredibly easy. I want to give everything I have to this organization because of the people here. It was a very easy decision to commit (to a new deal).”
In his NLL career, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound forward has appeared in 117 regular-season games, collecting 173 goals and 156 assists for 329 points. He also has 500 loose-ball recoveries.

On Aug. 21, 2025, Rochester acquired Williams, along with a second-round selection (24th overall) in the 2025 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft, from the Colorado Mammoth in exchange for Rochester’s first-round selection (10th overall) and second-round selection (28th overall) in the 2025 NLL Entry Draft.

Before heading to Rochester, Williams spent four seasons with the Colorado Mammoth (2021-25). He helped the Mammoth earn back-to-back trips to the NLL Finals, capturing the 2022 title. During the championship campaign, he led the postseason with 37 points (20+17) in seven games. In 2022-23, he finished tied for second on the Mammoth with 71 points (37+34). He also contributed 28 points (12+16) in the postseason.

Williams arrived in Denver following a July 6, 2020, trade with the Georgia Swarm. Colorado acquired Williams and two second-round selections in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft from Georgia in exchange for defenseman Dan Coates and a first-round selection in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft.

Initially drafted by the Georgia Swarm in the first round of the 2017 NLL Entry Draft (fourth overall), Williams spent three seasons with the Swarm. The forward ranked fourth in goals (18) and sixth in points (30) during the 2019-20 season, while his 56 loose balls tied for fifth among Swarm players. With Georgia, he notched 45 goals and 38 assists for 83 points in 39 games.

Williams played collegiately at the University of Virginia, where he was a two-time Honorable Mention All-American. He recorded 52 points during his senior season in 2017. Before playing for the Cavaliers, Williams was a three-time high school All-American and led Silver Creek to five consecutive Class “C” Sectional titles. He broke the national career high school records for goals (444) and points (729); both records still stand today.

At the Junior “B” level, he played for the Six Nations Rebels and powered the team to three consecutive Founders Cup titles. In 2012, he registered 30 goals and 37 assists in the regular season, 55 points in the playoffs, and 23 points in the Founders Cup. Williams also played for Native Sons in the 2017 Presidents Cup, collecting 49 points in five Can-Am games en route to a third-place finish.

This summer, Williams played for the Allegany Arrows (Can-Am League) and posted 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points in six games. In six postseason contests, he notched five goals and 24 assists for 29 points.

[Loose Mesh: The Lacrosse Podcast | July 18 at 9:58 AM]

Officially entering the 2026 NLL Draft: Raymond Cortes II. Cortes is the type of player every team needs, even if his impact doesn’t always show up on the scoresheet. He’s established himself as a reliable defender for the Six Nations Arrows by taking on tough matchups every night and making life difficult for opposing forwards.

At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, he brings a physical edge but also plays with a high lacrosse IQ. He’s willing to battle for every loose ball, get into shooting lanes, and make the right read in transition. Those are the little details that earn coaches’ trust.

His consistency, compete level, and ability to shut down scoring chances while keeping the play moving the other way. Cortes has all the traits of a dependable transition defender who can carve out a role at the next level.

Information & Images gathered from Haudenosaunee Nationals FB Page&World Lacrosse Online Stat Sheet

On July 20, 2026, the 2026 Haudenosaunee Women’s landed in Tokyo, Japan for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship at the Oi Stadium. Day one of their journey was spent with practice, meditation, and mindset training. Words from the head coach, Taylor Fink, were shared “We are really excited and really grateful to be here, and ready to go. Ready to Rock.” Stating that the team has a “growth mindset” and putting emphasis on taking things one day at a time as it goes by quickly and there is a lot of noise. “Enjoy the process, take it all in, and have fun with each other. It is an unbelievable once in a lifetime experience, they earned to be here, and they have worked very hard.”

Claudia Jimerson, Director of Women’s Lacrosse Operations for Haudenosaunee Nationals, also spoke on the women getting acclimated and getting the bronze medal last year in Florida to qualify for the World Lacrosse Championship. The things she was most excited about the women experiencing over the course of the tournament. Jimerson touched on the importance of veteran players guiding and mentoring the younger and newer players, how the bonds strengthen and the relationships resulting from that help with team building. The progression of the team and the on-field play, stating that with each tournament and each game you can see the progression, more of the comradery and chemistry.

The Haudenosaunee Nationals clinched their first win in their first game of the tournament on July 24, with an 11-8 victory against the Chinese Taipei. Jalyn Jimerson had the first goal of the game with the assist from her sister, Alie Jimerson. Then the second goal was Alie with the goal and Jalyn with the assist. Lois Garlow (5 Goals), Jalyn Jimerson (2 Goals, 3 Assists), Alie Jimerson (1 Goal, 2 Assists), Chloe Luther (1 Goal), and Avery Doran (2 Goals, 1 Assist) power us to a victory over Chinese Taipei in our tournament opener. Jaylyn Jimerson secured the first goal for the Women’s team, and they kept the momentum going. Lois Garlow was awarded the World Lacrosse Player of the Match. Lois went on to thank her teammates and hard work leading up to this stating “My teammates set me up so well. Without them I really wouldn’t have this. I am very grateful. I put in a lot of hard work the last year and it’s just showing today.”

Next up the Nationals played Team USA on July 25, getting beat out 22-5. Sierra Cockerille had 3 goals, Jalyn Jimerson had 1 goal, and Avery Doran had 1 goal. Goaltender Paige Crandall had 8 saves for the game.

The team had some downtime in between games and utilized it with practice along with sightseeing and team bonding. They were then back in action on July 27, the final game of tournament pool play and it all comes down to two. Winner of this game would then move on to the medal round. Haudenosaunee Nationals battled Ireland and came out with a five-goal fourth quarter victory. A final score of 13-7 Avery Doran (6 Goals), Jalyn Jimerson (3 Goals), Sierra Cockerille (1Goal, 4 Assists), Lois Garlow (1 Goal, 1 Assist), Alie Jimerson (1 Goal), Chloe Luther (1 Goal) and Paige Crandall (8 SV) lead the way in the win. Crandall was also awarded Player of the Game. The team punched their ticket to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Game – tensions were high, Lois Garlow scored a goal right off the rip unassisted 1 minute and 4 seconds into the first quarter. Haudenosaunee was leading at the half with a lead of 6-5. A last-second goal from Avery Doran sent the Nationals through to the semifinals, with a final score of 10-9! History was made as this is the first time the program has ever made it to the semifinals. Doran finished with 3 goals, 2 assists, Jalyn Jimerson contributed 3 goals, Lois Garlow had 2 goals, Sierra Cockerille had 1 goal, 2 assists, and Paisley Cook had 1 goal. While Paige Crandall turned away 12 shots in the win.

[Reposted from Channel 7 WKBW News | Author: Eileen Buckley | Published: 5:45 PM, Jun 29, 2026]

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Bills have a new founding partner for the newly built Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. Seneca Resorts and Casinos signed a major deal with the team, announced Monday inside the new Field Club Room.

Kevin Nephew, president & CEO, Seneca Resorts and Casinos, spoke at the announcement.

“The stadium is built on our land…and we are here to share this announcement,” Nephew said.

Nephew explained that the partnership had been nearly a year in the making.

“We’ve been talking with the Buffalo Bills…and we wanted to build more than just a partnership…we talk about a collaboration into the future,” Nephew said.

Seneca Resorts and Casinos will also sponsor the Bills Legends Community. Bills leadership honored the nation, calling the Seneca Nation an “incredible partner.”

Pete Guelli, chief operating officer of the Buffalo Bills, reflected on the significance of the location.

“I think it’s great…you know this is ancestral land…and we’re happy we are on it and I think it makes this partnership even more meaningful,” Guelli said.

Guelli also addressed concerns about access to the VIP club for those who may not be able to afford it, including members of the Seneca Nation.

“I think we’re going to try to get people in here as much as possible…we have a number of events lined up…if we can find things that are more public-facing that people can be a part of, we’re going to keep striving to do that,” Guelli said.

The VIP Field Club Room sits at field level at the stadium. Also in the works is a new art installation at the 300 level, created to highlight the Seneca’s past and present.

One younger member of the Seneca Nation, 16-year-old Michael Bovanizer, told me that as both a member of the nation and a Buffalo Bills fan, he is proud to see his heritage promoted in the new stadium.

“It’s awesome that everyone came out here to represent our culture…and let everyone know we are still here as a people and as a nation,” Bovanizer said. “It is good to honor our culture and our ancestors, that’s been here long before us, and we need to keep going on for generations to come.”
