Gakwi:yo:h Farms Gifts Faithkeepers School with Sugar Shack

Gakwi:yo:h Farm’s sugar shack has a new home. Originally, the Faithkeepers School was going to host a fundraiser in order to purchase the shack but Gakwi:yo:h Farms has graciously decided to donate it.

The sugar shack which was previously located at the Sully Huff Heritage Center, was used for straining and boiling down the sap that was collected. This year, the maple syrup production will take place right at Gakwi:yo:h Farms in Collins, NY.

Faithkeepers School is still searching for trees that they can tap. If they’re unable to find any, the farm has offered some trees on newly acquired land located next to the Seneca Allegany Casino. They will also work with the school and show them how to properly use the sugar shack.
