Two students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at the Carrier Educational Center recently competed in the ProStart Cake Challenge.

One of the students is our very own high school senior Layla Seneca of Lake Shore Central School. Each created presentations documenting the creation and design of their cakes for the competition.

“When I was coming up with the concept for this cake, I wanted the focus to be on the peonies,” Seneca said. “I chose to do peonies because my mom and I share a love for the big, beautiful flower as well as the color pink. I decided to use blossoms because when I first started to practice with fondant, I thought they were the exact size to make the cake look cute and complete.”

Congratulations for competing, these cakes look amazing! #BOCES ##cute
