News From The Four Corners United Methodist Church

Rte. 438 and Versailles Plank Road, Cattaraugus Territory

Submitted by Marilyn Anderson

November 22, 2020 was the last time that Four Corners held church services. COVID affected some members of our congregation and of our sister church in Versailles and so we suspended services. We didn’t get to celebrate Christmas and part of the Lenten season. However, we will be resuming services in time to celebrate Easter. It has been a time of prayers for our members and those in our community who have experienced illness and death. It is now a time to look forward to Easter, spring, and healing.

The Jelly Bean Prayer

Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Blue is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for our new tomorrow.
A bag full of jellybeans colorful and sweet,
Is a prayer, is a promise, is a special treat.

It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our pastor, Dave Rood. He has begun a new chapter in his ministry, and we begin a new chapter in the life of our church. Our new pastor is Holly Britain and we welcome her to our church.

The Seneca Hymn Singers continue to serve the community. As we begin to resume our church life we will update you on their rehearsals, etc. We invite you and your family to join us for Sunday services at 9 a.m. with coffee time at 8:30 a.m. Look for updates on our services in upcoming issues of the newsletter. Peace.
