Ja:goh Jared Breeden

Jared graduated from Eden In 2017. He always wanted to go into the Army but also wanted a college degree. He applied to 3 local colleges that offered ROTC programs along with 3 military schools. He was accepted to all 6 of them but chose Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA.

They challenged him academically, physically & mentally, at a 4 year boot camp. While there he joined the Virginia National Guard and drilled with the 29th Infantry Division as an enlisted cadet. While at VMI, the Army offered him an officers contract to serve once he graduated from VMI.
On Saturday May 15, 2021, Jared was officially sworn into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant & Sunday, May 16, 2021, he graduated from VMI, with a bachelor’s degree in History. In October he reports to Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA for his training with the Signal Corps and will be on active duty orders afterwards. The Signal Corps is a branch of the Army that creates & manages communications & information systems for the Army.

Jared is the son of Janine Marx Breeden, Grandson of Eileen & Tom Marx, Great-Grandson of Calvin (Army WWII Veteran) & Corrine Lay.
