Are You Unemployed?

Training & Employment Resource Center Can Help

Submitted by Toonie Pierce, TERC

Were you aware the supplemental unemployment benefits will expire in early September? Now is the time to start working toward a new job or career. The Seneca Nation Training and Employment Resource Center (SN-TERC) can assist you with job search, career readiness workshops (resume writing, interview skills, etc.), tuition assistance for training, books, fees, tools and equipment required for training for a specific job and more! We also offer high school equivalency preparation classes which prepare you for testing.

You may also access our application on the Nation’s website by looking under our department. The necessary documents you need to provide to determine eligibility are also listed there.

There are currently many jobs available throughout the Nation and surrounding area. Check out available positions at sni.org or we have all the available jobs posted in our office, as well as those at the Seneca Gaming and Entertainment, Seneca Casinos and local businesses. You can use our computers to complete your applications or print them out if you don’t have the means to do so.

There are many fast food establishments in our area that are hiring. They offer high hourly wages, but they rarely have other benefits associated with them. Often times you are required to work crazy hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Whichever direction you go, if you need assistance please stop by either office.

Stop by the Cattaraugus office at 23 Thomas Indian School Drive, Irving, NY 14081 (716) 532-1033 or the Allegany office at 3764 Administration Drive, Salamanca, NY 14779 (716) 945-8120.
