Today we’d like to highlight Kathryn Hopkins. With roots in Western New York on the Cattaraugus Territory, her youth was surrounded by culture and community of the Seneca Nation of Indians. Kathryn says “I admire the resiliency of my people, and the pride of our traditional garments and art”.

Aspiring to be in the Fashion Industry, she began her education in fashion design, and later expanded her life experiences to include the military. As an 88M; a Motor Transportation Operator, she was excited for the opportunity to travel. This experience instilled in her the confidence to follow her dreams.

In 2016, she earned her BA in Fashion Management, with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising from the University of the Incarnate Word. With use of her traditional beadwork, she developed an interest in accessories. She seeks to bring beauty and confidence with jewelry or a handbag. Kathryn hopes others can appreciate the labor, and the love in each piece.
