March 7th, UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse – BOSTON – For the second-straight week, the University at Albany men’s lacrosse program was honored with the America East Rookie of the Week award, the conference announced.
Amos Whitcomb, a freshman attack from Salamanca, N.Y., joins teammate Jacob Moran, who was last week’s winner, as the first two Great Danes to pull down a conference weekly award this season. Whitcomb recorded the best performance of his young career in the Great Danes’ last game, an 11-7 victory over Crosstown Rival Siena. He scored two goals and added three assists to lead all scorers with five total points on the evening.
Whitcomb was named alongside Offensive Player of the Week Thomas McConvey and Defensive Player of the Week Ryan Cornell, both from Vermont.
