Ja:goh Shelby Weston

She represented Gowanda Girls Lacrosse 2021 Sectional Championship team at the Bandits Halftime salute on Friday, Feb. 18th!

With the return of Buffalo Bandits lacrosse and fans at KeyBank Center this season, the team wanted to make home games during the 2021-22 season special for the best fans in lacrosse by offering “theme nights” for each of their home games.

For theme night “Youth Lacrosse Night“, the Buffalo Bandits honored league champions from Section VI, both girls & boys, during halftime at the February 18th game vs. Albany Firewolves.

Shelby Weston, a Junior from Gowanda High School represented the 2021 Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team as Class D Sectional Champions. Shelby is a member of the Turtle Clan residing on the Cattaraugus Territory with her mother Barbara Weston.

Under the direction of Head Coach Lottie Gill and her assistants Aryien Stevens, Marissa Haring and Justin Gill, the Gowanda Varsity girls beat Salamanca 20-5 to win the semifinals on 6/23/21. With a 17-8 win over league rivals, the Eden Raiders, they clinched the Sectional Championship on 6/25/21 for the first time since the inception of the girl’s program at Gowanda in 2018.

Jagoh Shelby and the rest of the GHS Varsity team, this years season gets underway on March 29th.

Theme Night schedule for the remainder of the Bandits season:

  • Saturday, March 12: Philadelphia vs. Buffalo – 7:30 p.m. – Wing Night
  • Saturday, March 26: Halifax vs. Buffalo – 7:30 p.m. – Native American Heritage Night presented by Seneca Resorts and Casinos
  • Saturday, April 30: Toronto vs. Buffalo – 7:30 p.m. – Fan Appreciation Night
