Clear Creek Bridge Replacement Starting: Watch for workers
Great news coming from the Seneca Nation Department of Transportation (DOT). The DOT has recently started the project of fully replacing the Clear Creek, aka “Bucktown,” Bridge on Route 438 on the Cattaraugus Territory.
It is the DOT’s ambition to fund the entire project using FHWA Bridge Program Funds at almost no direct cost to the Nation!
The long overdue project of replacing the dilapidated, outdated bridge is intended to take place over the next two years as the DOT works through engineering design and construction. Engineering starts the first week in March and will require tasks such as surveying, sampling, hydraulic studies, and more. Therefore, please take this article as a notice to the public that there will be several consultants working in and around the site throughout the duration of the project.
The engineering firm under contract with the Nation is CPL Inc., previously Clarke, Patterson, Lee Inc., the EIC will be CPL’s Jennifer Michniwicz, and the Project Manager will be SNDOT’s Ben Anderson. Please keep an eye out for public meetings which will be announced once designs have progressed.
If anyone has any questions or pertinent information regarding the project, please reach out to Ben Anderson, at Benjamin.Anderson@sni.org or 716-945-1790.
