Stroud Water Research Center Works With School Children on Allegany and Cattaraugus Territories

On Tuesday June 28, 2022, Stroud Water Research Center came to Salamanca and worked with the after school big program to teach them how to be water protectors. The students learned about the water cycle where they made bracelets out of beads where each color represented a different part of the cycle. The students learned about the macro invertebrates that are in the fresh water rivers and streams and used them to determine the health of the river. The students learned about how much water is on earth. The students enjoyed the presentation.

On Wednesday June 29th, Stroud Water Research Center came to Cattaraugus territory to teach some of the after school children from ECLC about being water protectors.

The students learned about the after quality in Cattaraugus creek and how much water is available on the planet. The students used microscopes to view macro invertebrates that live in the bodies of water near the beach.
