The Elder & Youth Social & Dinner, hosted by President Armstrong and Treasurer Pagels’ Offices, was held on November 16th at the Steamburg Community Center.
The traditional meal included roast deer meat, fried walleye, mashed potatoes, white beans, corn and corn soup. Wild game was provided by William Abrams, Sr. and served by the President’s Office staff and Chief Marshal Brandon Crouse.
The Community Center was full of both elders and youth as Councillor Maurice John, Sr. recognized and thanked the hosts, council representatives (Councillor’s Tina Abrams and Odie Porter) and singers that provided social music.
William Crouse, Sr. opened with Ganö:nyök and aided in singing along with Jake George, Jacob Dowdy, Peter Huff and Logan Dowdy. Dancing was led by youth participants teenage to toddler age. Jocelyn Jones won the $100 gift card to Parkview donated by the Allegany Women’s Singing Group.
