For the October Business/Marketing Student of the Month the Business Department has selected Quinton Jones. Quinton has thrived in each of his Business/Marketing classes that he has taken. He has a long list of Business/Marketing courses which include: ECC GS 111 College Success Skills, JCC BUS 1410 Accounting Fundamentals, Internship, Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, Career Planning, Robotics, and Sports & Entertainment Marketing. Quinton is adept in his business classes, and he owns his own business—Vybe Clothing.
Quinton’s dedication to his academics has earned him a spot on the National Honor Society, and the Business/Marketing Honor Society where he is the Vice President. Quinton has consistently been in the Top Ten of the Class of 2023. He has been awarded the Saint Bonaventure Academic Award, has been the SHS Student of the Month, and the SHS Athlete of the Week.
Quinton is an outstanding bowler. In fact, he has been a member of the varsity bowling team as a 7th grader. In his 7th grade year he was a starter and finished tied for 3rd in average on the team. He has been the captain of the SHS bowling team. Quinton was a Section VI All Star and a NYSPHAA 3rd Place in NYS for bowling. Quinton made school history by becoming the first bowler to ever make it to the State Championships for bowling. He has been the League MVP and the Team MVP 3 times for bowling. Quinton is a defensive lineman on the football team. Quinton was a league all star this past year during the golfing season.
Quinton can be characterized as a very gregarious person; his laugh is contagious. He has a great sense of humor, but as a student, he also knows when it’s time to get his work accomplished. He produces top-quality work in all of his business classes. He is intrinsically motivated to be the best he can be; his strong work ethic proves this.
When not in school, Quinton works part time at Dina’s restaurant in Ellicottville. Joshua Lechner, General Manager of Dina’s Restaurant said this of Quinton, “He surpassed expectations very quickly. He has exceptional time management, starting and running his own business, alongside athletics, academics, and working in the restaurant. His demeanor and attitude at work has always been positive. He has excelled in all positions he has been asked to perform. He has a bright future ahead of him with a multitude of options. He will rise to the occasion and any tasks put in front of him. Quinton’s integrity and work ethic separate him from the rest.”
Quinton’s plans after graduating are to attend Florida State University to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing. Your business teachers wish you the best of luck, Quinton!
