Seneca Nation Councillors Attend Indian Gaming Association’s Annual Convention

Councillors Jeff Gill and Presley Redeye recently attended the Indian Gaming Association’s 2023 Annual Convention, held March 27th-30th in San Diego, California. The annual convention focuses on opportunities and issues associated with Indian gaming and includes educational programs, panel discussions, and a tradeshow.

Councillor Gill was invited to participate as a panelist for a panel discussion at the convention titled “Exploring Barriers to the Use of Arbitration by Tribal Governments.” During the panel discussion, Councillor Gill spoke about the 2018 Nation-New York State gaming compact arbitration process, including its aftermath.

Just prior to the panel discussion, the councillors honored attorney Allison Binney for her exceptional work over the years on behalf of the Seneca Nation. Ms. Binney is a former partner at Akin Gump law firm and currently is principal of Allison Binney Law.
