Seneca Language Conference at Ganödagë:n

Registration is open for the upcoming Seneca Language Conference next month, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 20-21, 2023.

Featured presenters include:

• Jamie Jacobs – The importance of ceremonial language learning.
• Robbie Jimerson and Alex Jimerson – Effective Language Documentation.
• Alyssa Schmidt – Seneca Language Media
• Ja:no’s Bowen & Kelsey Lay – Online teaching methods.
• Wayne Abrams – Different learning styles.
• Derise Watermen – Language journey and tips for everyday language usage.
• Damian Webster – Second language aquisition and observations in Seneca language teaching.
• Jacky Snyder – Picture method teaching.
• Ja:no’s Bowen – The need for language teacher training.

Each of the presenters are actively working in Seneca Language in a variety of aspects and have a lot to share for fellow Seneca learners, teachers, administrators, and advocates. These topics are open for learners of any of our Haudenosaunee languages.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided and there will be door prizes, conference swag, interaction with the presenters, wampum belt exhibit, old style longhouse, gift shop, and much more.

Let’s bring our minds together to help foster the future of our languages and what we can do for the next 30-50 years for our language communities.
