Gowanda Girls’ Softball Team Brings Home State Title!

Ja:göh Gao:wisa:s Stevens, Corrina John, Aubrey Heron, Alhanna Gabel and the entire varsity softball team of Gowanda Central School District. The Gowanda CSD girls’ softball team is the 2023 New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Class C champions! They beat SS Seward by a score of 6-4 at the Moriches Athletic Complex on Long Island last weekend, June 10, 2023, to take home the state championship. This state title is the first for all of Gowanda’s athletic teams. Congratulations, girls!

The team was given a police & fire truck escort through Gowanda, down half of Route 438, to off territory to begin their travel to Long Island. Family, fans, and community stood along the route to cheer them on and show their support!

  • Gowanda defeated T’birds in Class C for first softball sectional title.
