It’s Marvin “Joe” Curry Veteran’s Pow Wow month and everyone is getting prepared for the many events happening throughout the weekend. Information can be found at senecapowwow.org. The event is scheduled for July 15-16 at Vet’s park in Salamanca, NY. On Friday, July 14th, Seneca Gaming and Entertainment will host a free music event at 7pm. Please join us for dancing, cultural activities and fun for everyone. (Note: Pow Wow schedule of events posted below)
This past weekend the Seneca Nation was invited to participate in a celebration of friendship where we shared Seneca history, and culture with the community of Canaedea. This was the site where the 1797 Treaty of Big Tree was signed securing Seneca lands some of which we are settled on today. This area was known where heaven rests upon the earth, our beautiful homelands.
The new clinic construction is underway. The initial infrastructure phase is in process. This is an exciting project and a more updated schedule will be forthcoming. Currently there is some renovation work in the dental unit which should be finished shortly.
