Please Leave Offspring Be
With spring-time passing, and summer beginning, there are still a lot of new babies out in the wild. If you encounter any babies that appear to be alone. Please leave them be. Their mother will come back for them. Keep our babies safe and with mom.
Bear Sightings Reminder
What does spring and summer bring? Bear! Bear sighting calls have increased. Remember here in Allegany we are surrounded by our beautiful hills, of woods. Be a proactive home owner, remove any potential food source they are looking for.
Cat and dog food please don’t keep outside. Bird feeders can be a big attraction for these cuties so keep in mind if you see a bear coming for them, take down the feeders for a few days. The bear will move along as long as there is NO food source. Make sure your garbage is in a can and not an attraction for them.
Let’s be good neighbors to these beautiful animals and keep them safe. For more information, call the Allegany office at 716-945-8155.
Boating on the Ohi:yo’
With the nice weather upon us, many take to our waterways. Please be aware we have a number of federally endangered species of freshwater mussels on the Allegany territory. Please refrain from disturbing, removing or taking any fresh water mussels with in the Ohi:yo’.
