Seneca Transit System (STS) Initiation of New Allegany Territory Circulator Service Modifications to STS Inter-Territory Service Route and Schedule Effective Date: October 2, 2023

Public notice is hereby given that the Seneca Nation Department of Transportation (SNI DOT) is seeking public comment on the following changes to the Seneca Transit System (STS).
Initiation of New Seneca Transit System Allegany Territory Circulator service:
- The Seneca Transit System intends to initiate the operation of a New Allegany Territory Circulator bus route on or about October 2, 2023. The new Allegany Territory Circulator bus route is estimated to commence operations between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 7:05 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, except holidays.
- The new Allegany Territory Circulator bus route will commence operation at the Allegany Community Center, located at 3677 Administration Drive, Salamanca, New York, and travel eastbound through the City of Salamanca to the Sullivan Hollow housing complex in Kill Buck, New York. From the Sullivan Hollow housing complex, the Allegany Territory Circulator bus route will travel through the City of Salamanca to the Allegany Community Center.
- The New Allegany Territory Circulator bus route will operate an estimated eleven round trips during the proposed hours of operation.
- The proposed Allegany Territory Circulator bus route schedule, including bus stops and the route map will be posted on the STS website at senecatransit.com.
Modifications to STS Inter-Territory Route and Schedule:
- Effective October 2, 2023, the Seneca Transit System Inter- Territory bus route will no longer stop at the following bus stops:
– Allegany Community Center, Mondays through Fridays, only
– Seneca Gaming and Entertainment, Salamanca, NY
– Center Street Plaza, Salamanca, NY
– Shop N Save, Gowanda, NY
– United States Post Office, Gowanda
– Early Childhood Learning Center, Saturdays
– Cattaraugus Health Center, Saturdays
– Winnie Kettle Building, Saturdays
– Lionel R John Health Center, Saturdays
- The STS Inter-Territory bus route will add a bus stop at the Zoar Valley Clinic, South Water St Gowanda, NY on the Steamburg to Irving route, only
- The Seneca Transit System Inter-Territory bus route schedule will be modified to afford riders opportunities to transfer to the new Allegany Territory Circulator service.
- The STS Inter-Territory bus route will continue to operate between the hours of 6:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, expect holidays. The Inter-Territory bus service will continue to operate between the hours of 9:00a.m.and 11:30 p.m. on Saturdays, except holidays.
- The new Inter-Territory bus route schedule, including bus stops and the proposed route map will be posted on the STS website at senecatransit.com.
Comments on the proposed initiation of the New Allegany Territory Circulator service and the Modifications to the Inter-Territory Route and Schedule are invited from the general public, human service agencies, business and community centers.
