JOB OPPORTUNITY
Temporary teacher assistant will provide afternoon relief to Faithkeeper School staff to allow them to participate in daily language training with a focus on increasing their proficiency and immersion instruction with students.
Teacher assistants will provide classroom supervision, care and classroom clean up in the afternoons, Monday thru Friday until the completion of the project. These part-time assistants will be compensated at the regular teacher assistant rate and hired as independent contractors. With the limited availability of speakers, these new hires will not be required to have Seneca language proficiency but will be encouraged to use Seneca with the children if they have some language knowledge.
Temporary Teacher Assistant will have one year of experience with children, high school diploma, clean background check, comply with random and pre-employment drug screenings. Position will be Seneca/Native preference and will seek to hire individuals with knowledge of Seneca language and culture.
Teacher assistants will work 20 hours per week, providing guidance and supervision to Faithkeeper School students, assist in the needs of students, exhibit strong teamwork abilities, adhere to Faithkeeper School Employee policies and participate in a mandatory one month training to acclimate themselves to the classroom and the practices of Montessori.
