Nya:wëh Sgë:nö’’ Gagwe:goh,
November is a month for giving thanks. We started the month at Seneca Niagara at the Native American Heritage month dinner and social. Members were served a wonderful turkey and traditional foods dinner. Nya:wëh to the cooks. This year SGC gave a special award to the Cattaraugus and Allegany Onöndowa’ga:’ gawënö’ programs for their dedication to preserving and revitalizing our culture and language.

We are honoring our Military armed forces this month on November 11th, for their service during war or peace time. They have dedicated their lives to protect and serve this land for our safety and well-being. We honor all Veterans.
A few Nation updates include the new Mortgage rate for Seneca members within or applying to the program. To be eligible for the new rate a credit report must be submitted with the application. Currently it is the responsibility of the member to obtain the report. The Mortgage program will assist with this process if necessary. More information will be posted as it evolves.
New bathroom construction will be starting at the Longhouse, Newtown community recreational area. Due to unforeseen circumstances the previously constructed building will be replaced.
The Lake Shore Transportation Department is experiencing a driver shortage. If you are interested in becoming a driver or have a CDL please contact HR. The shortage is causing route changes and more students on routes. This is a short-term issue and the Nation is working on resolving this for the safety of the students.
Have a great November and remember to be thankful for what you have, it may be more than you realize.
Stay safe and stay strong,
Dah ne’hoh dih ae’.
