Wesö’ Nya:wëh to EVERYONE who helped rebuild this vital cornerstone, and the heart of our spiritual community! We give thanks to the Creator for allowing us to come together and rebuild, and to give thanks for our way of life from the past, present, & future.
Earlier this summer the Newtown Longhouse was destroyed by fire. Our hearts were crushed, but with the determination and resilience of the community the Newtown Longhouse was rebuilt. This display of determination and resiliency is symbolic of the Seneca people.
The rebuild was completed last month, October 2023.
