November 6, 2023 | Repost from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
We:so Nya:wëh to the Buffalo Bandits and Tehoka Nanticoke for bringing the National Lacrosse League Champion Cup to Roswell Park earlier this month! In honor of Native American Heritage Month and in collaboration with the Buffalo Bandits, Roswell Park’s Department of Indigenous Cancer Health and the Community Outreach and Engagement (CoE) teams organized the event for November 6th! Tribal communities, the urban Indigenous community, and WNY communities were welcome to visit and take pictures.
Lacrosse is known as the Medicine Game to the Haudenosaunee and has been played by Native Nations in New York since the beginning of time. What a fun way to honor Native American Heritage Month!
