Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund

Last month, Seneca Holdings hosted Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund team on the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation. Members of the Microsoft team traveled from Seattle and New York City to meet with Seneca Nation Councilors to foster a long-term relationship supporting climate innovations.

While on Territory, they visited the Faithkeepers School, toured the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, and hiked the Highbanks Campground. The staff from Seneca Energy also participated in the visit by showcasing the Steamburg, NY solar array and discussing other renewable energy projects on Territory.

Formed in 2020, the Climate Innovation Fund is a $1 billion initiative by Microsoft to accelerate environmental solutions and bring climate equity to underserved communities.

Seneca Holdings and Microsoft are working to collaborate on meaningful projects to diversify the economy of the Seneca Nation and positively impact the fight against climate change.
