Seneca IV students worked on beading ornaments to spread holiday cheer to the elderly at the Cattaraugus Territory Office of the Aging on the Seneca Nation. Ms. Tahamont showed the students her own examples, and they chose their designs, including trees, ornaments, gingerbread men, and turtles. The class headed out to sing “Jingle Bells” in Seneca and present their hand-beaded ornaments to the Elders on December 18!
“Nya:wëh to the Silver Creek Seneca Language High School Class for coming to the Wini Kettle Sr. Center on Monday, December 18, 2023 and hanging out for some Bingo, LCR, shuffleboard, pool, some laughing, singing and dancing, and a delicious lunch too! The Elders loved the visit and appreciate the hand made gifts. Come back soon!” ~ Cattaraugus AOA
