It’s a time for renewal as the Mid-Winter ceremonies are underway. Winter is finally here with many areas around the region getting hit with feet of snow.
The Council and Administration is happy to announce we’ve had approximately 25 of applications for the Bush Road development. These homes range from 3 to 5 bedrooms houses. Homeowner selections will be forthcoming as the houses become completed. We anticipate other housing opportunities in the future.
I am also pleased to recognize Renita DeStefano’s appointment, as Seneca representative to the Homeland Security Tribal Homeland Security Advisory Committee. Representative will discuss key challenges facing their communities and access to resources such as Department of Homeland Security grants. A major component of the committee is to improve the consultation process for the grant process and to ensure the grants match the priorities important to Tribal communities. Ms. DeStefano will bring much experience to the committee as the Cybersecurity co-chair.
Seneca Energy’s Natural Gas Department is coordinating public meetings for the gas line expansion around the Territory on Monday, January 29th, Saylor Building from 5-7pm. More specific information regarding location will be presented at the meeting.
The generator project is looking to expand the project as well. With the extended power outage some members experienced recently, it is beneficial to get into the generator list. More information will be coming.
