– January 2024
Jill Newark has been chosen as the January employee of the month for Allegany. Jill has been dedicated to the Seneca Arts and Learning Center for four years. She is lead teacher for the Pre-K Room and finds her experience working with children very rewarding. Jill explains “I feel appreciated, and I learn every day. We have such an exciting work environment and I really get to nourish my inner child. Thanks to the support from the administration, I feel like anything is possible!”
Jill is eager to apply for college and obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education. She feels an education would benefit her, her co-workers and, of course, her students.
According to Jill, working at the Seneca Arts and Learning Center is a balance of hard work that pays off with a gratifying experience of being able to watch her students grow. “Being part of their early years is such an honor and that’s why I wake up and do what I do every day! It’s a labor of love,” she says.
Patience and determination are key when working with pre-school aged children. “I’m proud to be a part of shaping these children’s minds and watching them grow into individuals. I want to pave the way to a lifelong love of learning, “ says Jill
One thing on Jill’s bucket list is to attend a Superbowl that the Buffalo Bills are in!
Congratulations to Randy Thompson for being selected as January Employee of the Month for Cattaraugus Territory. He currently works for the Cattaraugus Maps and Boundaries Department and has been an employee of the Nation for 20 years.
Randy enjoys many different aspects about his job one goal he has is to complete building estates that they started a while back. One thing Randy knew about his job is that they are there to assist people and don’t make the rules.
Something on his bucket list to have the entire reservation surveyed one day. Randy is proud of himself that his service to the Seneca Nation is appreciated.
