The Grief Support Group is a non-profit grassroots organization located on the Seneca Nation Territory, Irving, NY, meeting for the first time in September 2023. The mission is to provide a healing and learning environment through grief resources, tools, referrals, and educational classes. The support group meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the Four Corners United Methodist Church, 1586 Rte. 438, Irving. We envision implementing tools for coping with grief in a healthy way and offering support during the most difficult experience we face as humans.
In addition to monthly support groups, we are offering an activity geared towards the healing process, and a 6-week educational class titled: Beginning Again: Tools for the Journey Through Grief. This is aimed at individuals and families who are coping with the loss of a loved one. Most recently, we have included a service titled “Mobile Printing/Copier and Mobile Notary Services” in which we can travel to families for assistance in document processing that includes copy, printing, email, scanning, and Notary Services. Another service offered is, through fundraising efforts, is outside accommodations in times of bereavement. We have acquired a 20’x40’tent, Six-6’ tables, and 40 folding chairs. Open to the public, everyone welcome! Please contact us for more information at 716-717-4943. Nya:wëh!
