League-champion Salamanca earned two prestigious awards in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West boys basketball as senior Lucus Brown was named the league’s Most Valuable Player and senior Kaine Whitcomb earned the Bryon Norton Award.
Brown averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 3.0 assists per game for the Warriors, who won the league title 9-1 record before capturing Section VI Class B1 and overall Class B titles. Salamanca advanced to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association final four for the second time in three years after beating Avon in the Far West Regional.
Whitcomb earned his award for dedication and hard work.
Salamanca senior Jaxson Ross and junior Avery Brown were joined on the Second Team.
