Employees of the Month

For March 2024: Congrats to Todd LaQuay and Tara Perkins!

Congratulations Tara Perkins, Investments & Audits Staff Accountant and Todd LaQuay, GIS – Sr. GIS Analyst. Tara and Todd were named Employee of the Month at a breakfast celebration held earlier today. Each month, two employees are recognized by the Executive and Council Offices for their efforts to go above and beyond in their daily duties at the Seneca Nation. Each winner receives a gift card of their choice, as well as an extra DAY OFF.

Congratulations to Cattaraugus March Employee of the Month Sr. GIS Analyst, Todd LaQuay!

Todd has been an employee of the Seneca Nation for 20 Years. He enjoys the variety of projects he gets to work on, with a mix of field work and office work it keeps things interesting. He also works with a bunch of different Nation departments and Community Members to assist with their Geographic Information needs.

Some of Todd’s goals for the next few months/years is to get more people using GIS technology. It has applications across many departments with a gentle learning curve and they are there to train and support you in its use. If they can help make just one part of your job easier and more productive, Todd bets that would lead to new ideas and uses.

One thing he wishes people knew about GIS Services is that they have a website! https://www.snigis.org/ . He’s very proud of the website, it offers a lot of information to the Community and the Nation departments. For example, GIS has a section of Public applications, including Address mapping, Public Cemeteries and Flood Zone information to name a few. They also created the Kinzua Dam Story Maps that you can find on our website, as well as a kiosk in the Cultural Center.

One thing on Todd’s your bucket list is to visit all 63 National Parks and see as many additional National Park sites as possible.

Todd is proud to be a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) for 10 years now. He’s been recognized a few different times in his career for outstanding work in the GIS profession and proudly displays all of his training certificates and awards on the wall of his office. It’s important to always keep learning.

Ja:göh Tara and Todd, we’re all very proud of you!
