April 2024 | Repost from NCAI
Last month, the NCAI Youth Commission participated in the 23rd Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues! This year’s theme underscores the critical importance of empowering Indigenous youth to actively participate in decisions impacting their communities and futures.
The NCAI Youth Commission was there to empower and advocate for Native youth across Indian Country, contributing to a global movement for self-determination and empowerment. In attendance was Yanenowi Logan (Seneca), co-president of National Congress of American Indians Youth Commission.
Indigenous youth are our future— we must ensure they are at the heart of discussions on Indigenous rights.
