Declaring May 5, 2024 as Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day
Repost from NCAI
President Joe Biden has signed a Presidential Proclamation declaring May 5, 2024, as Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, urging all Americans and every level of government to support Tribal Nations in raising awareness, addressing this crisis of violence, and building a future based on safety, security, and self-determination.
As the National Week of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Relatives comes to an end, our work marches on. NCAI stands shoulder to shoulder with partners across Indian Country in our dedication to enhancing the safety and well-being of all Tribal Nations.
Enough is enough – no more stolen sisters.
