We are half -way through the year already. The Nation is busy with multiple projects this summer including multiple housing projects on both Territory’s. Funding for these projects is coming out of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds which came about during the coronavirus to be used toward emergency, equitable recovery from the pandemic.
Currently there are three projects in the design stage including a fourplex in Steamburg and Allegany and a six unit on Bush road. These are considered multiple family units within one building. They may be side by side or stacked on top of each other. Once the designs are received, the styles will be considered, and the project can proceed. The intent is to have the projects start mid to late Fall.
The architect firm of Carmino Woods Morris design is slated to provide a project design for the new Buffalo One Stop anticipated for Miami St, South Buffalo. Also, New Fire Native Design group, a native owned company of Oklahoma, will present the design for consideration for 5 & 20 One Stop proposal.
The Nation is considering two candidates for the Chief Information Officer overseeing IT and a new owners rep for the One Stop projects and a few other projects such as the waterline upgrade at July’s Council session. They will be presented next month, once approved.
Continue to have a safe summer. Stay safe and stay strong.
