WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) proudly announced a significant federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded to the Seneca Nation of Indians. The grant, totaling $320,268, is part of the Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program.
“The Seneca Nation of Indians plays a critical role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of their community, especially for mothers, infants, and young children,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This grant will provide much-needed support for early childhood home visiting services, helping to improve health outcomes and strengthen family bonds. I’m honored to support the Seneca Nation in their efforts to build a healthier and stronger community.”
According to HHS, the Tribal Home Visiting Program aims to support the health and success of American Indian families through home visiting services. This involves conducting community needs assessments, developing evidence-based intervention plans, and providing services to pregnant women, expectant fathers, and caregivers of young children.
