Seneca Holdings continues to make good progress on our mission, which is to build a portfolio of profitable businesses that delivers long-term, sustained income and economic self-sufficiency to the Seneca Nation.

In 2021, the Holdings Management Committee worked with the Seneca Nation Council to develop a long-term growth and diversification strategy. Our corporate culture is built around “Investing for the Seventh Generation,” and we are proud of the progress we have made to date.
Jordan Garrow, the Holdings Management Committee chair, shared during the Council meeting in July that his vision for Seneca Holdings is that it can be “a billion-dollar enterprise that can provide long-term prosperity for the Seneca Nation.”
The primary business of Seneca Holdings continues to be federal government contracting. The success over the last several years has enabled Seneca Holdings to invest in additional businesses, particularly Seneca Environmental (to invest in and develop renewable energy projects) and the Hopewell Center (to develop an opioid treatment center in Buffalo). Seneca Holdings is actively evaluating additional businesses to grow the portfolio based established evaluation criteria.
At this time of year, the federal government contracting business (which we refer to as the Seneca Nation Group or SNG) is very busy. Our companies are gearing up for a strong final quarter to the government fiscal year (which ends on September 30). The last quarter is particularly important for winning federal government contracts as there is typically a push by government agencies to use funds before they expire at the end of the fiscal year.
The SNG business development team works with customers throughout the year to identify opportunities and grow the pipeline with the exception of end-of-year awards. You can learn more about SNG at this website: www.senecanationgroup.com.
We look forward to reporting on how the year ended and how many new positions we will be able to add. As always, we highly encourage everyone to look at our Careers page at www.senecaholdings.com. When applying for a position, be sure to complete the special section for enrolled Senecas, who always have preference.
This summer Seneca Holdings has eight participants in our Native American Summer Internship Program targeted at university students. Our interns are assigned to a department that aligns with their career interest, have a designated mentor, receive professional skills training, and are exposed to every area of the company. In addition to our annual internship program, Seneca Holdings proudly sponsors key events for the Seneca Nation, such as the annual Marvin “Joe” Curry Veterans Powwow—you may have seen some of our interns working at our booth representing the company—and a fundraising event for the upcoming World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference.
Don’t forget, Seneca Holdings is hiring! We consistently have open positions across our teams, and we are always looking for the best and brightest. Please check out our website www.senecaholdings.com for the most updated job openings.
